Last London Show

After almost two years playing in pubs, clubs, backrooms and music halls all over London, I am heading back to the mother country for a stint on the east coast of Australia. Our last show will be at 8pm on Thursday the 11th of November at 229 in central London (229 Great Portland Street). We are supporting the superb Emma Topolski and we will be playing with the full band including Mehmet Raif on bass guitar, Marv-ill on beatbox, and Rhys Owen on sax. It would be brilliant to see some familiar faces down so keep it free!

A sincere and massive thankyou to everyone who has booked us, watched us, paid us, and bought us beers over the last two years. This is not the end for the Simplists (I will reappear in London periodically) so keep your ears peeled in readiness for a new EP and future shows.

This weekend we’ll be playing two great shows, both with Mehmet Raif on bass guitar and Marv-ill on beatbox. First, on Friday the 28th of May we’ll be at the World’s End in Finsbury Park (21-23 Stroud Green Road) with an hour set from 8pm. Then on Sunday the 30th of May we’ll be at the brilliant Live Room in Palmers Green (236 Green Lanes) to celebrate Mehm’s birthday. Doors open at 8pm and both gigs are free. (Apologies to people on the mailing list for the confusion with the dates!)

This Tuesday the 16th of February we’ll be playing in Palmers Green at the recently opened Live Room (236 Green Lanes). For those in the area, doors open at 8pm and we hit the stage at 10.15pm. If you can’t make it down, the concert is being streamed live from the Live Room website. Should be loads of fun and we’re doing a full 45 minute set. Check it out (virtually or for real) if you can!

It’s been a massive year for us, our first on the London scene, so a huge thanks to everyone who has shown their support. Our last London show for 2009 was on Thursday the 26th at the Camden Rock (see the photos) where we officially welcomed the brilliant Rhys Antony Owen to the line-up on saxophone. Thanks to all who made it down, and we’ll see you all again in the new year!

In addition to the original 5 tracks, there is also an internet only version of Slave played live on RTRFM in Perth on Sunday 4th June 2006. Enjoy!
